At least 120 people have been killed in attacks in the Khartoum area in Sudan, according to rescue workers who emphasize that the figure is an early estimate.
Those behind the attack are not specified in the statement.
The shortage of medical supplies is critical and healthcare personnel are treating "a large number of injured people who are suffering from varying degrees of injury", the rescue organization reports.
Most of the city of Omdurman near Khartoum is under military control, while the rival paramilitary militia Rapid Support Forces (RSF) holds northern Khartoum and certain other parts of the capital.
Both the army and RSF have been accused of targeting civilians, including healthcare personnel, and indiscriminately shelling residential areas.
