Kosovare Asllani got a festive start in her new club, London City Lionesses.
The 35-year-old national team star, captain of the English second division team, scored 1-1 in the 39th minute in the season premiere against Newcastle. The match also ended 1-1.
London City Lionesses is the Swede's ninth club at senior level. She said earlier this summer that she thought it was powerful to be part of the start of an effort towards Women's Super League - in a club that is the only fully independent women's club in England.
This club will stand on its own and create its own fans, said Asllani to TT.
Her national team colleague Julia Roddar also plays in the London club, and she was also in the starting eleven.
