A work of art honouring Ing-Marie Wieselgren is being inaugurated on Monday evening in Visby. It is the group Rat & Dragon from Luleå who have been commissioned to create a work that honours the memory of the psychiatric coordinator who was murdered during Almedalsveckan two years ago.
The work "Listening" is a sculpture of a weighted birch tree in bronze and has now been installed in Almedalen Park.
We have tried to create something that can carry several different layers of sorrow. The idea is that it should encourage taking Ing-Marie's work further. We have named the artwork "Listening" because we have understood that she was very good at listening, says artist Tomas Örn to SVT Gotland.
