In an interview with The Times, Art Garfunkel, 82, reveals that he had lunch with Paul Simon, 83, just a couple of weeks earlier.

The two artists from the epic duo Simon & Garfunkel had not met in many years. When Art Garfunkel asked what had happened, Paul Simon told him how hurt he had been by the criticism that Art Garfunkel had delivered in an interview in 2015. Art Garfunkel began to cry.

When I look back, I assume that I wanted to disturb Simon & Garfunkel's pleasant image. You know what, I was an idiot, says Art Garfunkel to The Times, and tells that the two are now planning to meet again.

Will Paul bring his guitar? Who knows. For me, it's about making amends before it's too late. I felt like we were back in a wonderful place. When I think about it now, tears roll down my cheeks. I can still feel his hug, he says to the newspaper.
