Another of entrepreneur Bianca Ingrosso's cosmetics company Caia Cosmetics' products has been sold with toxic PFAS substances.
Recently, the company was reported to the Chemicals Agency for toxic PFAS substances in an eyeliner. The product was, according to the company, removed from the range in April. Now it turns out that another product from Caia, a kohl pencil, has been sold with the same PFAS substance, reports Bloggbevakning.
One product has now been discontinued, the other has changed its contents.
"Historically, a total of two of Caia's products have contained perfluorononyl dimethicone: Caia Duo Eye Pencil, which has been discontinued from our range, and Caia Pencil Eyeliner, which no longer contains perfluorononyl dimethicone", the company writes in a statement.
The PFAS substance perfluorononyl dimethicone is extremely difficult to break down and can have harmful effects on humans and the environment, wrote the Chemicals Agency in its police report.
Bianca Ingrosso co-founded the cosmetics and beauty brand Caia Cosmetics in 2018. Two years later, the Swedish venture capital firm Verdane stepped in as the new majority owner of the company.
