American Attack on Targets in Syria

The US military has attacked nine targets in Syria believed to belong to Iran-backed groups.

The attack is a response to the groups' attacks on American forces in Syria and Iraq.

According to Central Command, "these strikes will reduce the Iran-backed groups' ability to plan and execute future attacks against US forces and our allies".

The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reports that four people are believed to have died in the attack.
