Dolatshahi has been charged with violating Islamic law by deliberately dancing to music, according to Iranian authorities.

A legal process has been initiated against the series' producer (Navid Mamoudi, editor's note), actress Sahar Dolatshahi, and the platform responsible for distributing the series, reports the state-run Iranian news agency Mizan.

The dance took place in an episode of the TV series "Dariush" which aired in Iran two weeks ago. The clip where Dolatshahi moves her head, shoulders, and hands has gone viral in recent days. A man is also dancing in the clip.

The charge is not the first to involve filmmakers and Islamic law recently. At the end of August, film director Rakhshan Bani-Etemad and her daughter, actress Baran Kosari, were charged after attending a film premiere without wearing the mandatory hijab.
