Colombia resumes peace talks with guerrilla
Colombia's government and the left-wing guerrilla group National Liberation Army (ELN) have agreed to resume the interrupted peace process. In a joint statement, the parties say they will resume peace talks on November 19, two months after President Gustavo Petro broke off the talks following an ELN attack on a military base that killed three and injured 28 soldiers.

Pressure on Maduro: Prove Your Election Victory
Colombia is pressing Venezuela's leader Nicolás Maduro to prove his disputed election victory earlier this year. Venezuela's government-friendly election authority needs to provide a more detailed account of the voting procedure and voter lists by January 10 at the latest – when socialist leader Maduro's current mandate expires, announces Colombia's Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo: "Otherwise, Colombia, as the president (Gustavo Petro) has already made clear, will not recognize the results.

Colombia will stop exporting coal to Israel due to the war in Gaza, Colombian President Gustavo Petro announces. "We will break off coal exports to Israel until they stop the genocide," Petro writes on X.
