The war in Ukraine will end faster when Donald Trump becomes the President of the USA again than it would have otherwise, says Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj in an interview with the Ukrainian public service company Suspilne, reports BBC.
Zelenskyj and Trump had a "constructive exchange" when they spoke on the phone after Trump's victory in the presidential election, says Zelenskyj.
The Ukrainian President states that Trump did not say anything that contradicted Ukraine's stance.
It is clear that the war will end earlier with politics from the team that will now lead the White House. This is their approach, their promise to their citizens, said Zelenskyj in the interview.
He adds that Ukraine must do everything to end the war during the next year, through diplomatic efforts.
