Up to 250 deported individuals will be received, announced the spokesperson for the Rwandan government, Yolande Makolo. She gave no details on how the arrangement is intended to look.
The agreement is a part of President Donald Trump's policy to send people to countries they have no connection to, in order to get them out of the USA. Trump is interested in finding more cooperation partners regarding deportations, with the motivation that the deportees' home countries refuse to receive them.
Last month, the USA sent 13 men, described as "dangerous criminals", to South Sudan and Eswatini. Hundreds of Venezuelans and others have also been sent to Costa Rica, Panama, and El Salvador during Trump's rule.
