From YouTube to best-selling books – and now to film. The comedy group I Just Want To Be Cool can tick off another success on their wish list. The book series "The Villains' Villain" is being made into a film, with a planned premiere in January 2026.

Joel Adolphson, Emil Beer, and Victor Beer from I Just Want To Be Cool will star in the film adaptation themselves. Alain Darborg ("Jönssonligan – the Perfect Heist") is directing, and the script is being written by Jessika Jankert.

"The fact that 'The Villains' Villain' is now going to be on the big screen is like a dream come true for us. We never thought anyone in Sweden would be crazy enough to try to translate the world we've built up in the books into a film," says the YouTube group in a joint statement in a press release.

The film will be shot in Stockholm and Lithuania next year. The project is a collaboration between Strive Stories, SF Studios, and SVT.
