In total, 59 positions will be eliminated within the various operations, according to a press release. The cuts will be implemented from the fourth quarter of 2025 and are expected to reduce costs by approximately 45 million kronor per year.

Among the newspapers that will lose editorial staff are also Hallandsposten and Hallands Nyheter. Hallandsposten will lose four of today's 32 positions in the editorial office and Hallands Nyheter three positions. Other newspapers in Stampen Media will also be affected by the cuts, but Johan Hansson cannot yet say which ones. However, Bohusläningen will not be affected.

– This is due to lower revenue from advertising and distribution during the second quarter, he says.

Although digital revenue is increasing for both advertising and subscriptions, it does not compensate for the decline in the same areas for print newspapers.

But next year, we see that digital revenue will be equal to or greater than print revenue.

In addition to the decline in advertising, Stampen Media, a part-owner of the mailbox service Early Bird, is also losing money due to the decline in distribution of so-called China packages.

The new savings are an addition to the changes in the distribution operations that were implemented during the first half of the year.

Corrected: In an earlier version of the text, there was an incorrect statement about how many employees in total would be eliminated within Stampen.
