After seven parliamentary elections in less than four years, Bulgaria has once again got a new government – now under the leadership of conservative former speaker Rosen Zjeljazkov.
This time, it is already from the start a minority government whose three parties – conservative Gerb, social democratic BSP and populist party ITN – rely on support from oligarch Ahmed Dogan's party APS.
According to Zjeljazkov, the government promises financial stability and continued EU- and Nato-friendly policy, even though BSP in particular has many voters and representatives who want to see a rapprochement with Russia.
