Inhabitants of a community in the southern parts of the US state of New Mexico have been ordered to leave their homes due to a wildfire spreading rapidly in the area.
"Leave now. Do not attempt to gather belongings or protect your home. Evacuate immediately", local authorities in the community of Ruidoso, where 7,000 people reside, announce.
The power supply has been shut off in parts of Ruidoso due to the fire, which had spread over approximately 5.1 square kilometres when the evacuation was ordered, reports KOAT-TV.
