After a completely green opening, Friday's trade turned overwhelmingly downward.
At closing, Nasdaq's composite index had fallen by 0.4 percent. S&P 500 hovered around zero for a long time before finally closing at minus 0.1 percent. Dow Jones remained on the green throughout the day and ended at plus 0.3 percent, which means a new record level for the index.
One of the day's winners was server company Super Micro Computer, which plummeted 12 percent on Thursday after allegations of accounting fraud. On Friday, the stock recovered by around 4.3 percent.
Pharmaceutical company Moderna had a good day and rose by 2.9 percent.
Mentioned semiconductor company Nvidia fell by 2.2 percent. Fellow industry players AMD and Intel also saw a red trading day, down 1.9 and 0.2 percent, respectively. It went even worse for computer company Dell, which lost as much as 4.9 percent.
