The trading week on Wall Street began on Monday with cheerful figures.
The Dow Jones industrial index closed at plus 0.7 percent, the S&P 500 index rose 0.3 percent, and the Nasdaq composite index went up 0.3 percent.
The financial sector acted as a locomotive, with, among others, major banks JP Morgan and Bank of America rising 1.5 percent and 1.8 percent, respectively. Investment banks Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley landed at plus 2.2 percent and 2.0 percent.
Energy giants Exxon Mobil and Chevron fell 0.5 percent and 2.6 percent.
The mid-year rally continues this week with reports from, among others, tech giants Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, and Apple.
