"I have decided to strengthen our forces with necessary powers and needs, which includes electronic warfare and unmanned components," wrote Ukraine's highest military Syrskyj on social media on Monday.
Russia has retaken certain areas in Kursk that were previously taken by Ukrainian forces. Moreover, Moscow claims to have taken areas in the Sumy region on the Ukrainian side of the border.
Syrskyj claimed that Ukrainian military in Kursk and Sumy do not risk being surrounded by Russian forces: "currently, there is no such risk". But he admitted at the same time that Ukraine's military has been forced to retreat to defense lines that are easier to defend than more offensive positions.
