Tucker Carlson: Hurricanes are caused by abortions

The reason why the USA is hit by more and more hurricanes is because women have abortions. This is claimed by the influential conservative activist Tucker Carlson, who is campaigning for Donald Trump.

The outburst came in a podcast - hosted by former Trump adviser Stephen Bannon, who was recently released from prison, writes New York Times.

In the interview on Monday, Carlson equates a positive attitude towards abortion rights with sacrificing humans to the gods and accuses US Finance Minister Janet Yellen of advocating for families to have fewer children for economic reasons.

Something Carlson believes will punish humanity through more natural disasters.

People say: "Hurricanes are caused by global warming". No, it's probably abortions, honestly. You can't do that. You can't deliberately kill children, knowing that you're doing it in exchange for freedom and prosperity.

The abortion issue is one of the most important for voters in the American presidential election. The issue is deeply disputed and has been in focus since the country's highest court in 2022 revoked a previous ruling that established that abortion rights are part of the constitutionally protected right to privacy.

Tucker Carlson was previously a program host on the conservative TV channel Fox News and has long supported Donald Trump. Carlson was fired from Fox News last year.
