The USA's former President Donald Trump promised in a speech on Wednesday, among other things, lower prices for American consumers if he wins the election in the fall.
The Trump campaign had previously promised that the speech in North Carolina would contain significant announcements on the economic area.
Trump devoted a large part of the speech to attacks on his rival, the Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. He claimed, among other things, that she would exacerbate what he described as an ongoing economic crisis.
As for his own intentions, the former President promised to ensure that energy and electricity prices would be halved within 18 months after a Trump government takes office. He also promised to "quickly drive down" prices in general.
Vote for Trump and your income will rise, your savings will grow, said Trump.
Kamala Harris will hold a speech in the same state on Friday, where she is expected to present promises on the economic area.
