The decision was one of many signed by Donald Trump during his first evening back at the White House.
Tiktok is threatened with shutdown in the USA unless its Chinese parent company Bytedance finds an American buyer. Trump's presidential order gives Bytedance more time to do just that.
Donald Trump also says that he thinks the USA should own half of Tiktok.
I think the USA should have the right to get half of Tiktok and – congratulations – Tiktok would get a good partner and it would be worth, you know, could be 500 billion dollars, he says.
