A former top executive at the collapsed crypto empire FTX, Caroline Ellison, has been sentenced to two years in prison, a court in New York announces.
The 29-year-old is believed to have contributed to the embezzlement of several billion dollars from investors and buyers.
I am extremely ashamed of what I have done, Caroline Ellison has previously said.
The verdict comes almost two years after one of the world's most popular cryptocurrency exchanges crashed in November 2022. In March this year, the founder and former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
