Are you used to being contacted by headhunters on LinkedIn, or browsing career sites like Indeed or Eures for a new job? Often, it's very expensive for employers to recruit, especially in the tech sector where there's a shortage of skilled people and it's hard to find them.
Now, companies have found a cheap way to advertise, namely in the web browser's development tools. You can access it, for example, in a Chrome browser by right-clicking and selecting Inspect or navigating to More Tools -> Developer Tools. If you select the Console tab, you can see messages intended primarily for developers working on web development and wanting to locate errors.
TikTok's job announcement
TikTok has "smuggled" in a job announcement in the browser's developer tools, and the message reads:
"We are hiring! Are you ready to make a change? Check out some of our available positions at https://careers.tiktok.com "

It's a very smart way to get exposure to web developers who often use developer tools when developing websites. It might be more common moving forward in the competitive job market.
