The costs for the rebuilding of E6 after the landslide in Stenungsund will amount to approximately 550 million kronor, according to the Swedish Transport Administration.
This is significantly lower than estimated by the administration, which received an allocation of one billion kronor in the government's spring amending budget.
"The risks we took into account have not materialized and the work was successful thanks to the concerted effort made initially and which we maintained throughout," says Anneli Amft, head of maintenance at the Swedish Transport Administration's western region, in a press release.
The municipality of Stenungsund has estimated that their costs after the landslide will amount to approximately 270 million kronor.
During the landslide, on September 23 last year, a several hundred-meter-long stretch of E6 north of Stenungsund was destroyed. Several people were injured, although not seriously.
