On Sunday, there is a very high risk of fires in forests and land in large parts of eastern Götaland, inland Svealand, and the southern Norrland coast. This also applies to Öland, Gotland, southern Sweden, and Skåne. On Gotland, the local fire risk is reported to be extremely high.

One should be very cautious with fire in the coming days, and everything that can produce open flames and sparks, for example, from a machine, says Torbjörn Simann, meteorologist at SMHI.

The dry weather continues on Monday. The warning of a very high fire risk has then been extended to also apply to the Skaraborg area.

What it will be like on Tuesday is still difficult to predict, but by mid-week, we can breathe a sigh of relief.

On Wednesday, a good rain is coming in over the whole country, says Simann.
