The interest organization Publishers urges Israel to open the border to Gaza and allow international news media to enter to cover the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

This is stated by Publishers in an open letter to Israel's ambassador on Friday.

"It is with great sorrow and anger that we are forced to acknowledge that Israel is now actively preventing reporters and photographers from entering Gaza and objectively reporting on what is happening there", it says, among other things, in the letter.

Publishers – which represents SVT, SR, UR, TV4, Sweden's Magazines, and Newspaper Publishers – also wants Israel to take measures to better protect journalists who are covering the conflict.

According to Reporters Without Borders, over 130 journalists have been confirmed dead in Gaza since last October.
