The Navy has initiated an investigation into the damaged cable between Sweden and Lithuania.
We started searching early this morning. It has been possible to work until now, but it has started blowing significantly more. It's on the verge of being possible to conduct searches, says the Navy's press officer Jimmie Adamsson.
What we're looking for is a cause for the cables to be damaged or broken.
The investigation into the cable between Finland and Germany was completed late on Wednesday evening. Adamsson does not want to comment on any findings with reference to the secrecy of the preliminary investigation.
Previous sabotage has generally been difficult to investigate because they are characterized by factors pointing to hybrid warfare, according to Adamsson.
The operation is carried out in secret and can be denied.
In the current case, it is still too early to conclude that the same method was used.
We're not quite there in terms of evidence. Previous events in the Baltic Sea, which this seems to resemble, are difficult to tie to anyone.
