The music spring of 2025 has undoubtedly something for everyone, regardless of taste and preference. As usual, there are several major album releases that are only at the rumor stage, such as new albums from Rihanna, Elton John, Jason Isbell, and Paul McCartney, but many are also set in stone. Here are some of them:
January:
On January 17, Mac Miller's posthumous album "Balloonerism" will be released, which has been talked about on the internet for years.
On January 24, The Weeknd's "Hurry up tomorrow" will be released, the third part of the album trilogy that started with "After hours" in 2020. Later this spring, the film with the same title as the album will also be released, in which The Weeknd plays one of the roles. On the same date, FKA Twigs' album "Eusexua" will also be released, and on January 31, Bonnie "Prince" Billy's "The purple bird" will be released.
February:
Lady Gaga stated last autumn that her new album, which has the informal title "LG7", will be released this month, but no official release date is known.
On February 14, Neil Young's "Oceanside" will be released.
March:
On March 21, Finnish rock band Lordi will release the album "Limited deadition", and on the 28th, The Darkness will release "Dreams on toast".
April:
On April 4, The Waterboys' "Life, death and Dennis Hopper" will be released, Bootsy Collins will release "Album of the year #1 funkateer", and Susanne Vega will release "Survival of the fittest.
May:
Lana Del Rey will release her new album "The right person will stay", her tenth album in a row, on May 21.
Even 2024's fix star Chappell Roan will release an album this year, but it's unclear if it will be released during the spring. There are also rumors that Taylor Swift's new version of "Reputation" will be released this year, but as usual, she has not confirmed the album release.
There are also rumors that Kanye West will release the album "Bully" this year, and that Rihanna will finally release her ninth studio album. The latter rumor has been circulating since 2016, so it should probably be taken with a grain of salt.
On the Swedish side, Miriam Bryant will release the album "Okej att dö" on January 31, and Silvana Imam and Felix Sandman will release "Tro" and "Yue" respectively on the same date. Sarah Klang's "Beautiful woman" is expected on February 7, the same date as Markus Krunegård's "Bastard". Kleerup will release a new album in March, and Staffan Hellstrand will release "Sommar" in April. Jakob Hellman and Jonathan Johansson are also expected to release new music sometime during the spring.
