About 30 vehicles got stuck in the water masses when Sunday's heavy rainfall led to flooding on the E45 outside Lilla Edet.

No personal injuries have been reported, but the road had to be closed for nearly two days.

The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) can, in the event of larger floods, assign the county administrative boards the task of investigating causes and consequences, but will not make such demands now, reports SVT News West.

The reason is that they do not assess that the incident has affected life and health, the environment and cultural heritage, or built-up areas.

We didn't see that it had a comprehensive impact on several functions, so we think that in this case it's a task for the Swedish Transport Administration to deal with this, says Mette Lindahl Olsson, unit manager at MSB, to SVT.
