The Message: Alexander Ovechkin Out for at Least a Month

The superstar Alexander Ovechkin's leg injury, which he sustained in Monday's meeting between Washington and Utah in NHL ice hockey, was expected to keep him out for a longer period of time due to the injury.

Now the message comes that the 39-year-old will be out for 4-6 weeks.

Ovechkin's hunt for Wayne Gretzky's goal record in NHL is thus paused. The Russian is, with his 868 NHL goals in total, 27 full hits away from surpassing Wayne Gretzky's goal record of 894 goals.
