Charles Dumont, the composer behind one of Edith Piaf's most emblematic songs "Non, je ne regrette rien" has passed away at the age of 95, writes Le Figaro.
Dumont began his career as a trumpet player but later became a composer. He collaborated with, among others, Barbra Streisand and the singer Dalida. From the 1960s onwards, he wrote about 30 of Edith Piaf's most famous songs.
Without her, I would never have done anything I did, neither as a composer nor as a singer, Dumont said, according to AFP.
The last time he performed in front of an audience was in 2019. Charles Dumont was 95 years old.
