The Waste Queen Bella Nilsson, now Fariba Vancor, who was previously the CEO of the waste company Think Pink, receives the prize for "her imaginative business methods, paired with an unyielding principle of not acknowledging any personal shortcomings".
A trial has been ongoing for several months, where Bella Nilsson is one of eleven people accused of various environmental crimes. According to the charges, the waste company Think Pink was paid for sorting waste, but instead, the company dumped hundreds of thousands of tons of waste at 21 locations in Sweden.
According to the Johnny Bode Society, Bella Nilsson has, through her company Think Pink, become nationally known in recent years as a creatively unbiased entrepreneur in the construction waste industry.
The prize consists of a diploma and a sum of money, which the society has already used to pay for a restaurant visit – where the winner was not allowed to participate.
Among previous winners are, among others, Michael Brinkenstjärna, Ken Ring, Marcus Birro, Kristoffer "Kringlan" Svensson, Mona Sahlin, the Swedish Academy, and Margaux Dietz.
