The Government has decided to expand the control of the criminal records registry for new hires in schools and preschools, reports P4 Skaraborg.
Previously, the Government has appointed an inquiry into which additional crimes – apart from, among other things, sexual offenses, child pornography offenses, murder, and kidnapping – should be included in the registry. The inquiry is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
We want a broad review. The school is a hunting ground for recruiting to gangs, said the current Education Minister Johan Pehrson (L) in April, then in the role of Minister for Labor Market and Integration.
According to P4 Skaraborg, it is already clear that crimes involving minors in criminal activity and crimes under the terrorist crimes law will be added to the registry.
