The Defense's environmental processes should go significantly faster. The government has decided on a temporary ordinance aimed at enabling the defense to more quickly expand its training activities.
The decision only concerns speeding up the process. The environmental requirements will remain the same as before.
"With this decision, the military defense can grow faster as decision-making processes can be shortened from years to weeks. This enables increased activity at, for example, airfields, shooting ranges, and harbors. This increases our defense capability," says Defense Minister Pål Jonson (M) in a press release.
The ordinance will be in effect for five years, starting on January 1, 2025.
