Earlier this year, the district court convicted an 18-year-old man for gross unlawful threats and gross weapons offenses after a shooting at a multi-family house in Uppsala in March last year. No one was injured in the incident, which took place in the Stenhagen district.

Although the man was initially suspected of attempted murder, he was acquitted of that, as the district court did not consider it proven that he had shot with the intention of killing the residents of the apartment.

However, the Court of Appeal is now overturning the district court's verdict and instead convicting the man of attempted murder, reports Uppsala Nya Tidning.

The man, who denied the crime, is sentenced to three years of closed youth care and is to pay 200,000 kronor in damages to the plaintiff.
