The price of raw coffee is now the highest in 50 years and is expected to rise even more during the spring, according to Sveriges Radio P4 Malmöhus. After several dry years, this year's harvest in Brazil is expected to be even smaller than before. At the same time, more coffee is being consumed in the world, which has led to an increased demand.

The global market price for green and unroasted coffee is currently at 3.2 dollars per pound, which corresponds to approximately 35 kronor for half a kilo. In Swedish stores, the coffee price has increased by 17 percent over the past year, according to figures from the Statistics Sweden. In addition to the decreasing harvest, the dollar exchange rate has also driven up the price of raw coffee.
