The coach Peter Eriksson, 57, was involved in a nasty accident at Rättvikstravet on Monday.
Eriksson was thrown out of the sulky after being kicked in the head when the horse Lill Vincent began to gallop. An ambulance helicopter was needed and the 57-year-old was taken to hospital in Dalarna.
Now his brother, Ulf Eriksson, is providing an update on his brother's health.
He knew his personal identity number yesterday when he was coherent. He was transferred directly to Uppsala yesterday evening and has been sedated since then, says Ulf Eriksson to Travronden, reports Expressen.
At Akademiska Hospital in Uppsala, Peter Eriksson will undergo an operation.
I think it was the collarbone and nasal bone that were crushed. We don't know more and have to wait for the operation, says Ulf Eriksson.
