In an interview with SVT Skåne, the aunt of the vinegar-poisoned girl reveals that she herself was forced to drink vinegar as a child.
That her sister was later convicted of poisoning her own daughter is described by her as "sick".
Exposing one of your own children to something she herself witnessed as a child. I don't even know what word would fit. It's too sick to be true, she says to SVT Skåne.
It was in March that the girl's parents were sentenced to eight years in prison. They were convicted of giving their daughter life-threatening amounts of vinegar, holding her captive, and a range of other serious crimes.
The verdict was appealed by the parents and the prosecutor. The appeal proceedings in the court of appeal are expected to conclude on Thursday.
