A man in Västerbotten has been a leading figure in the Nazi NMR. Now, both he and the party have been terrorist-listed by the USA and his bank account has stopped functioning.
The man claims that he left NMR over a year ago.
The US Department of State terrorist-listed the Nazi Nordiska motståndsrörelsen (NMR) on Friday and labelled three leading, named individuals as terrorists.
One of the men, a 50-year-old living in Västerbotten, tells P4 Västerbotten that he left NMR a year and a half ago and regrets joining.
It's just utter madness, he says to the radio channel about the terrorist label.
The man also claims that his bank account and debit card have stopped working.
You must be able to withdraw, regardless. I haven't committed any crime, he says to P4 Västerbotten.
Banks in Sweden are legally required to block individuals who are terrorist-listed by the EU or Sweden. For other terrorist listings, the banks decide themselves, but according to the radio, they can be accused of terrorist financing if they have these men as customers.
The man will now try to appeal the terrorist classification in the USA to the American authorities.
