A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a 25-year-old man in Gothenburg.

It was on Thursday evening that a man was found shot outdoors near an apartment building in Bagaregården. At 11 pm, the police announced that the man had died from his injuries.

Earlier on Thursday, another shooting occurred on a parking lot in Partille. Two other individuals have been arrested since earlier as reasonably suspected of attempted murder for that shooting.

"We are now investigating the motives and background of the events, as well as the question of whether they are connected to each other. Investigations are ongoing, including interrogations and various technical examinations", writes prosecutor Per-Erik Rinsell, who is the lead investigator, in a press release.

According to information obtained by Göteborgs-Posten, the now-arrested teenage boy has ties to a criminal network in Biskopsgården.

The newspaper has learned that the police assume that the two shootings may be linked to the conflict between criminal gangs in southern and northern Biskopsgården on Hisingen in Gothenburg.

The stress level between these two groups has been extremely high after the murder of C.Gambino, a police source has told Göteborgs-Posten.

Rapper C.Gambino was shot dead on Hisingen at the beginning of June. Two young men are being held on suspicion of accessory to murder.
