Fire and explosion broke out on a Swedish cargo ship near the Danish island of Bornholm during Thursday evening.
We have assisted Denmark since the ship was in the Danish rescue region, so we have assisted with one of the Swedish Maritime Administration's rescue helicopters, says flight rescue leader Fredrik Hermansson.
The Swedish Maritime Administration was alerted at 21.22. The cargo ship had five people on board and was not loaded. Whether there is a risk of further fires, Fredrik Hermansson has no information about.
We do not know what caused the fire. But all crew members are on board our rescue helicopter on its way to Kristianstad's helicopter base. There should be no one injured, he says.
