The Swedes were arrested in a raid in 2009 and sentenced to life imprisonment in May 2011. Three Filipino accomplices were sentenced to 20 years in prison.
In January last year, the Philippines' Justice Department recommended that the two should be released and deported to Sweden. The country's President Ferdinand Marcos has since made the decisive decision.
