The Swedish eventing team – with Frida Andersén, Sofia Sjöborg and Louise Romeike – finished sixth at the Olympic Games in Paris in July. Now the team is moving up one step to a fifth place.
This since the Belgian team that finished fourth has been disqualified. A horse that was part of the team has tested positive for doping.
The Swedish Equestrian Federation's sports manager Andrea Barth comments:
"It's always sad with doping cases, even if it, as in this case, means a better placement for us. But it's incredibly important that it comes out since we want a completely clean sport. For the horses' sake, not least", she says to the federation's website.
