We will push for this, says Tobias Andersson, Chairman of the Riksdag's Industry Committee.
Battery manufacturer Northvolt recently went bankrupt with billion-kronor debts. Many creditors risk losing large sums and thousands of jobs may be lost in Sweden.
According to the Sweden Democrats, politics bears a large responsibility in "perhaps the largest bankruptcy in Swedish history". The party accuses, among others, leading politicians, municipal politicians, and the EU Commission of having inflated the project.
The Sweden Democrats now want to see a state inquiry commission that investigates how it could go as it did, who should be held accountable, and how large the loss will be for the public.
It's difficult to get a comprehensive picture of this at present, says Tobias Andersson.
State AP funds have invested in Northvolt, but the Sweden Democrats also want to get a picture of, for example, which grants have been paid out and which public infrastructure investments have been made linked to Northvolt.
It's important that lessons are learned and that politics learns from its mistakes, says Andersson.
