On Tuesday, a national minute of silence will be held to honor the victims of the school shooting in Örebro. At the same time, public transportation will come to a standstill across the country.

A week after the worst massacre in modern Swedish history, a minute of silence will be held on Tuesday at 12 o'clock. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) has urged all of Sweden to participate, and it will also be noticeable in public transportation.

Västtrafik, Östgötatrafiken, UL, and Skånetrafiken are some of the public transportation companies that will stop, among other things, buses and trams.

All bus traffic that can be stopped will do so if it can be done in a traffic-safe manner, says Jenny Olsson at Skånetrafiken's press service.

In Stockholm County, SL is urging its passengers and employees to participate in the minute of silence.

If possible and traffic-safe, it may happen that traffic comes to a standstill for short moments during this minute of respect and contemplation, says Andreas Strömberg, press chief at SL.

SJ's trains will not stop, but passengers and train attendants will be urged via a loudspeaker announcement to pause their work, among other things, in the dining cars.
