"So long, Marianne" is one of Leonard Cohen's most famous songs, but it is also the title of a new Norwegian TV series about Cohen's muse Marianne Ihlen.
The script for "So long, Marianne" is written by, among others, Jo Nesbø and Øystein Karlsen, and in the roles of Cohen and Ihlen, we see Alex Wolff and Thea Sofie Loch Naess. Even the Swedish actors Peter Stormare and Simon Lööf participate in the series.
Norwegian Ihlen and Canadian Leonard Cohen met on the island of Hydra in the early 1960s, where they began a relationship. The relationship ended, but Ihlen and Cohen remained friends for the rest of their lives.
"So long, Marianne" will be broadcast in eight episodes on SVT, starting on November 3.
