The alarm about the incident came to the police just before 3 pm on Sunday. According to information to Nerikes Alllehanda, witnesses saw a man walking around and filming with his mobile phone, then throwing a bag under a car and running from the scene.
The parking lot was cordoned off and visitors who were inside Ikea were asked to stay there or leave the store via the emergency exits on the other side of the building.
Later in the afternoon, the cordons were extended to also include the E20 and a fast-food restaurant nearby. Even there, guests were asked to leave the restaurant via a back door.
Now, the cordons are being lifted, and people in the area are asked to follow the police's instructions. Traffic is also expected to return to normal soon.
