A wounded man was admitted to the hospital in Örnsköldsvik late on Sunday evening.
According to the police, there are several circumstances that lead them to suspect that the man was subjected to a serious crime. The incident is classified as attempted murder.
Two people have been arrested on suspicion of the crime and will be questioned, says the police's press spokesperson Marie Andersson.
The police have, in connection with the investigation, carried out checks on a number of addresses and vehicles.
The condition of the man being treated at the hospital is unclear.
