The coffee chain Starbucks is cutting back and 1,100 employees will now have to leave the company. The cutbacks do not affect personnel who work at the chain's cafes or coffee roasters, the company announces in a press release.
The cutbacks include around 7 percent of Starbucks' workforce that does not work within the company's cafe operations and is yet another measure launched by the new CEO Brian Niccol. Last autumn, it was announced that employees would have to be prepared to come into the office at least three days a week, otherwise they risked being fired.
