The New York Stock Exchange's leading index moved only marginally on Wednesday, the day after the worst declines in a month. The broad S&P 500 fell 0.2 percent, the Dow Jones industrial index rose 0.1 percent, and the Nasdaq's technology-heavy composite index fell 0.3 percent.
Healthcare companies and banks were among the companies that weighed the most on the market. For example, Molina Healthcare plummeted 7.0 percent and Citigroup fell 0.8 percent.
Index-heavy Nvidia lost the equivalent of 2,800 billion kronor in market value on Tuesday when the stock fell almost 10 percent. It was a historically large decline for an American company. Now the semiconductor giant fell further, down 1.7 percent.
