The Skövde-based game developer Pieces Interactive is being shut down, reports the trade press.

The studio, which released a new version of the horror game "Alone in the Dark" in the spring, saw the game perform worse than expected, despite featuring Hollywood stars such as Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve", "The Last Duel") and David Harbour ("Stranger Things", "Black Widow"), according to game giant Embracer, which owns Pieces.

In a post on X, the studio thanks those who played. The studio was formed in 2007 and was one of the larger ones in Skövde, with over 40 employees at the time of the game's release.
